Recycling in Butler County
The citizens of Butler County have several different recycling options. Items which can be recycled at your city recycling locations include the following: newspapers, magazines, paperback books and shredded paper can all be placed in the newspaper compartment; cardboard; plastics #1 through 7; clear glass; and tin cans.

In addition to the above items, the Butler County Transfer Station, located on Highway 3 three miles east of Allison, can also accept and recycle clean Styrofoam (no peanuts), plastic bags, lead acid and rechargeable batteries, used oil and filters, aluminum, and fluorescent light bulbs (free for residential, small fee for commercial cliental). 

Items which can be disposed of and recycled for a fee at the Butler County Transfer Station include televisions, computer monitors, printers, copiers, tires, appliances, and scrap metals.
